Annunciation Heights Internship Program

Who We Are

Annunciation Heights is a Catholic retreat center located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We provide a place and program for youth, young adults, and families to withdraw from a busy culture and come to know and experience a true friendship with Jesus. Our hope is that visitors will return from Annunciation Heights with a greater sense of who God really is, have a better awareness of the reality of His immanent presence in our lives, and gain a more profound personal experience of the power of His grace and the joy of being His follower. Under the patronage of Mary, Undoer of Knots, Annunciation Heights is a place where the creator of the universe speaks, and is invited to break through in our lives in a new and transformative way.

The Opportunity

The Internship Program is the heart and soul of our mission at Annunciation Heights. Its premise is taken from Jesus’ invitation to Peter on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus calls Peter to “PUT OUT INTO THE DEEP and let down your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:4). This call to the deep, “Duc in Altum”, is based on the idea that, like Peter, we must first entrust ourselves to Christ’s personal call to the deep before we can let down our nets for a catch. The purpose of the Internship Program is to form the next generation of young adult Catholic leaders and evangelists. Our interns make camp happen! We at Annunciation Heights are devoted to the development of each and every one of our young leaders on a personal, professional, spiritual, and emotional level. We are committed to knowing you, serving you, training you, and loving you as we train you to know, serve, and love others.

Position Summary:

The Annunciation Heights Internship Program is a one-year program designed to provide formation for interns while they help to run programs and retreats. Our year-round program runs from mid-August, 2018 to the beginning of August, 2019. Interns will be mentored, trained, and encouraged in serving and leading at the camp. Programs include the JPII Outdoor Lab, Summer Youth and Family Camps, and various retreats throughout the year. The JPII Outdoor Lab, a primary offering of Annunciation Heights, provides faith and science, leadership, and confirmation retreats for middle school students in the fall and spring semesters. Days will be divided into a combination of prayer and Mass, learning and leading, serving and work assignments – all while living in a dynamic Catholic community at the foot of Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. Our team members are teachers and leaders who model and strive to live the faith. They are enthusiastic, fun, hard-working individuals who have a strong desire to share the love of Jesus Christ and be part of our family at Annunciation Heights.
